Last November 24, 2011, I was invited to speak at the Pangasinan ICT Congress to share some of my thoughts regarding Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media.
Looking back at the Google algorithm changes for almost a decade now, it is amazing how the algorithm is becoming more and more “sociable” in such a way that it does NOW seriously considers the social voices as well as the mindset of the searchers. The social media phenomenon has left the search engines (not only Google) no recourse but to respond and change their algorithms accordingly else they will be “outdated”.
Here are the Key Takeaways of my talk:
- Have a sense of SEO Algorithm history
- Improve your SEO Toolbox, add SOCIAL Tools
- Update your SEO process to consider SOCIAL & REAL-TIME SEARCH
- Google Plus is a GOLD MINE
- Remember Microformats
- Authorship Markup
- Teach Clients to use social networks
- INBOUND MARKETING
