Job Responsibilities
As a QA Automation Engineer (Mobile & Frontend), the candidate is expected to perform the following duties:
Core Development Tasks:
Write clean, testable, and well-documented Mobile Automation Tasks; Design, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for iOS and Android platforms using modern mobile testing tools, effectively managing device-specific gestures, OS nuances, and viewport sizes.
Frontend Web Testing:
Build robust end-to-end (E2E) and functional UI test suites for modern, component-driven web frameworks (e.g., Next.js, React) to ensure cross-browser compatibility and seamless state management.
CI/CD Pipeline Integration:
Embed automated test suites into continuous integration and delivery pipelines, executing tests efficiently across containerized staging and pre-production environments.
Defect Isolation and Diagnostics:
Identify, document, and track software defects with precision. Collaborate directly with software engineers to isolate visual regressions, state errors, and mobile performance bottlenecks to verify hotfixes.
Documentation and Quality Standards:
Create and maintain technical documentation for automated testing frameworks, test plans, and coverage reports, ensuring all testing processes are transparent and maintainable across teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience, certifications, or a strong portfolio demonstrating test automation frameworks will also be considered.
Quality Assurance Experience:
3 to 5 years of hands-on software quality assurance experience, with a proven focus on automated mobile and web UI testing.
Mobile Testing Tools:
Practical experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium, Detox, or Maestro.
Web Automation Frameworks:
Strong proficiency with modern web automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
Programming and Scripting:
Solid scripting and development proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for building clean, maintainable test scripts and custom runner configurations.
Version Control and Mobile Distribution:
Experience with Git workflows and mobile app distribution platforms (e.g., Apple TestFlight, Google Play Internal Testing tracks).
Soft Skills:
Acute attention to detail with a methodical, root-cause-driven approach to problem-solving.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate technical issues to development teams.
Strong self-motivation and eagerness to continuously adopt and adapt to modern testing frameworks.
Ability to work independently as a dedicated QA authority while collaborating effectively within an Agile team.
Architecture Exposure:
Experience testing decoupled/headless web architectures (e.g., Next.js frontends connected to API backends).
Performance Profiling:
Familiarity with mobile app performance profiling, including resource usage (CPU, memory, battery) and network latency under simulated loads.
Containerization Exposure:
Basic experience with Docker and local containerized staging environments.
Metrics and Scorecards:
Familiarity with tracking key performance indicators, test coverage ratios, or contributing data to engineering scorecards.
